PDP Like Minds has challenged River state Governor, Nyesom Wike to give the platform and PDP leadership recognition through invitation to commission projects in the state and also attend same ceremonies.
This developement became necessary in view of glaring absence of PDP Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus who doubled as the son of a the soil in all the commissioned projects.
According to Abubakar Mallam, the spokesman of the group,it is politically inexpedient to give credence and honour to other prominent Nigerians, leaving behind the foundation of the current successes recorded.
‘Governor Wike in the last few months has embarked on mass project commissioning in Rivers, these positive developement was not achieved in isolation, but as PDP Governor, why treating the party leadership as allien’? He asked.
‘We are also not unaware that Prince Uche Secondus is one the strongest PDP stakeholder in his home state of River, and by implications the entire country, what impression is Governor Nyesom trying to create’?
‘The roles of Prince Uche Secondus both in the first and second term re-election of Governor Wike is still fresh on our mind,so what warranted the decision of River State Governor is still shrouded in mystery’ He asserted.
He urged the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to respect party leadership and adhere to it’s supremacy, saying it is shameful before Nigerians to initiate any divide and rule tactics in PDP.
He described as embarrassing the decision of Governor Wike to dignify prominent Nigerians and denigrate Prince Uche Secondus led leadership before Nigerians.
He says the current Uche Secondus led leadership of PDP is the best since the inception of democratic dispensation in Nigeria, particularly in the last 21 years.
PDP Like Minds appeal to River State Governor to overlook needless rancour, that may affect the preparatory stage and confidence reposed by Nigerians to return PDP to the country’s leadership in 2023.
