The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has invited all the 17 screened gubernatorial aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to a meeting on Saturday.
Our reporter reliably gathered that the governor is expected to name his prefer APC Governoship candidate during the meeting.
The meeting is scheduled to hold at the state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro Abuja, as governor Bello is expected to meet the aspirants who had served in his cabinet in the last seven years.
“The governor is expected to make a pronouncement on his choice of successor at the meetings,” an aide to one of the contenders told our correspondent.”
The meeting is strictly by invitation from the Kogi State Party Chairman, Abdullahi Bello.
The meeting will also have all the serving legislators, newly elected legislators, Commissioners and also Local Government Chairmen in attendance.
Also, members of the APC State Working Committee have been invited.
The news of the invitation may have sent frenzy into the minds of supporters of various gladiators running for the party’s ticket, as the Governor’s declaration of support for either of them would be detrimental to many aspirations.
