The Federal Polytechnic,Idah has approved the appointment of Dr. Onoja Abu as Director , Academic Planning according to the Rector of the institution, Dr. Yahaya Baba Usman.
The appointment which is for a period of two years in the first instance as contained in the appointment letter signed by Abdulkadir B. Abba dated 8th June,2023 is with effect from 28th June, 2023.
Dr. Abu’s appointment is in recognition of is hard work and dedication to duty, his latter stated.
His function as contained in his letter are as follows:
i . Developing Academic programmes for the institution;
ii. Liaising with the National Board for Technical Education in respect of resource inspection and accreditation of new programmes as well as reaccreditation of existing one;
iii . Liaising with professional bodies for accreditation and reaccreditation of programmes;
iv. Proposing annual academic calendar for the consideration of the Academic Board;
v. Keeping and updating students statistics in terms of admission and examination performance;
Vi. Serve as Desk officer of TETfund in respect of Staff Development and Training and Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Academic Board or the Rector.
Dr. O.Abu by virtue of his appointment is a member of Academic Board , Management Committee, Staff Development Committee and any other relevant Committee in which he may be called to serve.
He is presently the Director,Industrial Training in the Institution before his new appointment.
