The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has admonished the Okun people to remain united and continue to support the administration of Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo.

He reaffirmed the Governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development and the security of lives and property across Okunland and the entire Kogi State.

He gave the admonition while receiving an Award of Recognition from Isokan Okun Media Concept Voice of Unity for Development.

The Commissioner described Isokan Okun Media Concept as a reputable and purposeful platform, charging its leadership to continue using the media as a tool to educate, enlighten, and promote unity among the people of Okunland and beyond.

“We need unity among ourselves, and we also need to be united with others. I urge you to continue to use your platform to bridge the gap between Okunland and other ethnic groups in our state,” Fanwo stated.

He assured the organization of his Ministry’s readiness to collaborate and synergize with them in the collective task of public enlightenment and social cohesion.

Hon. Fanwo also eulogized the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for establishing a university in Okunland, noting that the institution has continued to drive rapid development in its host communities and surrounding areas.

He further noted that the current administration, under the leadership of the Chief Servant of the State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has been prudently deploying available resources to improve infrastructure at Kogi State University, Kabba, and Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa, with the aim of making the institutions more functional, effective, and accessible to the people.

The Commissione, therefore, urged the people to shun politics of bigotry and remain steadfast in their support for the present government.

“We have a government that genuinely has the interest of the Okun people at heart. When I recently visited Kogi State University, Kabba, and the College of Education (Technical), Mopa, I was amazed by the level of development achieved within such a short period,” he emphasized.

The Award of Recognition was presented to Hon. Fanwo by the Founder/Director of Isokan Okun Media Concept, Mr. Ajayi Kayode Abiola, alongside the Coordinator, Mr. Ologbonyo Reuben Shogo.

In their separate remarks, they stated that the award was in recognition of Hon. Fanwo’s selfless service to humanity and his consistent efforts at building bridges of unity across Okunland, describing him as a distinguished son of the land.
