Ebira People’s Association (EPA) the umbrella body of Ebira Tao Nation, held a general Congress of the stakeholders of the Senatorial district on 14th September, 2019 at the conference hall of the Hiltop Hotel, Okene. The meeting which had a generous attendance of the Leaders of the District across board included the following personalities.
1. Six First Class chiefs
2. Feathered Chiefs across the district
3. District Heads
4. Ward Heads
5. Heads of Trader’s union
6. Leaders of Èbira Youth Congress
7. Leaders of Èbira Cultural union
8. Leaders of EPA branches across the Federation etc
9. Director General, information, Kogi state
10. Director General, Lands, Kogi State
The following are the resolutions from the Congress:-
1.The people restated their absolute confidence in EPA to continue in its role of safeguarding the interest of Anebira (at home and in diaspora) and Ebira land.
2. Achievements of EPA in peace advocacy and untiring efforts at attaining unity of the anebira were variously commended.
3. There is need for both Traditional Institutions and Local Governments in the district to commence a regular and continuous sensitization of the people on the National ID Card registration, Voters registration /education, the fourth coming population census and the Nov 16th 2019 Governorship election.
4. We must appeal to the good conscience and reasoning of our brothers on the political divide to support the second term bid of Kogi Central Senatorial district.
5. Every sons and daughters of Kogi Central must as a priority be in support of the re-election bid of Governor Yahaya Bello-GYB.
6. EPA was roundly urged to do all it could in its power to unite all Anebira towards the election of Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello for second term
7. Ebira People shall continue to make demands for Good Governance and dividends of democracy for all citizens of the state.
