The attention of Kogi Committee For Good Governance has been drawn to a trending video recording of the Chief of Staff to Kogi state Governor, Edward Onoja, stooping so low in his attempt to disparage the respected personalities of Former Governor Ibrahim Idris and Capt Idris Wada.
We are however not surprised at the recent outburst occasioned by Edward Onoja’s failure in the presidential and national assembly elections to willingly attract the support of Igala Bassa nation which made him resought to violence.
To have channelled his anger of rejection and the stiff resistance which the people of Kogi East meted to him during the last Saturday’s election, leading to outright writing of results, and his attempt to smear the persons of former governor’s Ibrahim Idris and Capt Idris Wada, is most regrettable.
It is no longer news that the non payment of salaries, lack of infrastructure, bad governance hallmark of the Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration caused the rejection by Kogi east people.
The people of Kogi east by extension Kogi state, having interacted with former governors Ibrahim Idris and Capt Wada, can attest to the fact that they are of a responsible breed, respected elder statesmen whose legacies would certainly outlive them.
We therefore urge the well meaning people of Kogi State, particularly people of Kogi East to disregard the irresponsible outburst of the Chief of Staff, knowing fully well that his anger at the two former governors stemmed from his inability to willingly attract the peoples support.
For the Kogi Governorship Election slated for November. We wonder why Edward Onoja would choose to drag Alhaji Abubakar Idris into his misguided outburst.
The race to who become governor of Kogi State is one that is open to all including Edward Onoja.
One is therefore at a lost at the fears that is being expressed about Alhaji Abubakar Idris, whose lifestyle, history and successful public and private lives speaks positive volumes.
The statewide support Alhaji Abubakar Idris is enjoying should not startle Chief Edward Onoja who is not a member of the PDP, but choose to cry more than the bereaved.
As for the Kogi State Governorship election. Power belongs to God and we wonder what would be the fears of Chief Edward Onoja when the election is , many months ahead.
We therefore use this medium to call on the people of Kogi state, particularly the youths to disregard the video recording being circulated by cynics and to remain focus in building a greater Kogi state.
