National Women Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma has lauded Nigerian First Lady, Lady Aisha Buhari on her commitment towards the welfare of the people, through social intervention and economic empowerment of the people.
Mrs Baiwa dropped this statement during her joint visit with the President’s wife to commission a new Aisha Buhari Foundation(ABF), maternity complex named after her and empowerment of 2,000 women and youths, through Notore green school initiative in Yola,Adamawa state.
Hajiya Baiwa said the legacies of social and economic intervention in the lives of ordinary Nigerians, remained a panacea to improving the lots of ordinary people from the shackles of underdevelopment and poverty.
The APC National Women Leader, urged public officers, well to do individuals, corporate organisation and government at all levels to support the good intentions of Mr President’s wife, in her desire to eliminate poverty level in the country.
Mrs Eluma-Umar assured the people that it is only through democratic governance and government, can only guarantee a healthy and good living of the less priviledged in the society, saying emulating the President’s wife will be a corrolary to migration from massive underdevelopment in the country
Dignataries that joined her Excellency, Aisha Buhari to grace the occassion include, the First ladies of Ghana, Gambia, Niger, Chad and Cote D’ Ivoire.
Governor Umar Fintiri of Adamawa state, wives of governors and associates were also present during the commissioning of the complex by Chief Tony Elumelu, a renowned philanthropist.
