…. promises rapid infrastructural development in Dekina LGA

Kogiflame

The Chairman of Dekina LGA , Hon. John Urah Ikani has taken a bold step to revolutionize infrastructural development in the Local Government Area as he flags off the grading of Ajedimekwu-Ojogba-Okate-Ojonoja-Ajekalaga to Abocho in the Local Government Area.

The Chairman has also directed the use of laterite on the road to make it accessible.

Speaking at the flag-off, the Executive Chairman said his administration has decided to invest millions of naira in repairing the earth moving equipment of the Local Government Area because of his readiness to declare a state of emergency on bad roads in the area, assuring the people of the area of the readiness of his administration to address the issue of bad road across the Local Government Area.

His words: “We have chosen to invest heavily in bringing our earth moving equipment to life. Our graders and tippers are working perfectly and all other equipment. We did this because of our commitment and readiness to make every road in Dekina accessible.

“Our Local Government is basically an agrarian area and it means that we must open up our roads to the market. The era of wasted agricultural produce as a result of bad roads is gone. I am determined and ready to open up all of our roads and we are starting with this bold initiative”, he said.

The Chairman called on the Department of Works of the Local Government to show capacity with the project and prove to the world that it is ready for the new dawn that will be full of activities and work for the betterment of the Local Government Area.

“I am here to work and I will ensure I monitor the Department of Works to make sure we do a good job. Good roads are important to our agricultural drive as well as our commercial activities in the state. Farmers must be able to reach the market and our market women should no longer be sleeping along the road because of bad roads. We will address the needs of the people.

“As you are aware, the yuletide is here with us and we must make these roads ready for those coming to celebrate with their loved ones in our villages. This is what we are elected to do and we will not fail our people”, he said.

Hon. Ikani said Dekina will continue to be a construction hub as he is determined not to disappoint the faith of the people in him.

He thanked the Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his support in ensuring Dekina is placed on the map of development, saying the Governor is a good example to all the Local Government Chairmen.
