Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana, has successfully completed the Integrated Management System (IMS) Certification Audit.

The IMS Certification Audit was conducted over a week period by seasoned auditors from the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON).

The rigorous Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit reviewed the plant’s compliance with quality, environmental, and occupational health & safety standards.

The ISO system coordinator for Dangote Group, Sani Mikali, explained that the establishment of ISO Management system in Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana plant, and other plants at Gboko and Ibese was approved by the President and Chief executive of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, under the guidance of the Group Vice president, (Oil & Gas), D.V.G Edwin.

Mr. Mikail said the ISO Management System implementation and sustenance have recorded successes over time with valued added opportunity across the Processes and System in Dangote Cement Plants since 2010.

The Plant Director, Nawabuddin Azad, a strong advocate of the System, said the IMS brings numerous benefits to the company, particularly in facilitating the continual improvement of processes.

Company’s Representative, Kommineni Suresh, lauded the achievement, noting that Dangote Cement Obajana has set the pace in the industry.

“DCP Obajana is one of the first cement factories in Nigeria to attain the IMS certification,” Mr. Suresh said.

During the audit process, the Team Lead of the SON auditors, Ijeoma Nkechi Ohaemesi, applauded Dangote Cement Plc’s management for its commitment to excellence and striving for continual improvement in all the processes and operations.

Mrs. Ohaemesi said the audit certification process aims to foster deeper alignment with the Management system standards.

In her remarks, the IMS Team Lead, Akindele Temitope, highlighted the teamwork that made the success possible.

“This was only possible through management’s commitment and everyone’s dedication to this cause,” she said.

Mrs. Temitope said the certification enhances compliance, quality, safety, and improves communication and business focus.

“With this milestone, DCP Obajana reaffirms its position as an industry leader committed to excellence, sustainability, and global best practices,” she added.
