The entire community of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara has received on campus the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Salawu Abdulrahman Asipita.

Receiving the new Vice Chancellor in his office were members of the Management Team comprising the Registrar, Ms. Olufunke Hudson, the Bursar, Mr. John Alaji and the University Librarian, Mr. Jeremiah Salifu.

Others who heartily welcomed Engr. Prof. Salawu Abdulrahman Asipita were the Director, Academic Planning, Pharm. Muhammed Audu Ausuku, the Director, Physical Planning and Development, Bldr. Ismail Adoke and Arc. Ahmed Usman Muhammed, Director, Works and Maintenance.

According to Balogun Omeiza David, Head, Public Relations Unit, CUSTECH, Osara. Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu during his remarks gave thanks to God Almighty on this appointment which he said he least expected.

He appreciated His Excellency, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello (CON) for seeing him worthy to take up the position of leadership at CUSTECH, Osara.

Furthermore, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu told the Management Team and all those present in his office that he was going to continue from the solid foundation already laid by his predecessor.

He said, “This will bring to pass their dream of seeing CUSTECH, Osara having the capability to provide a reputable world-class institution renowned for producing highly skilled, globally competitive graduates with a strong affinity for practical problem-solving and cutting edge research output.”

He sought-after the cooperation of all and sundry working with CUSTECH, Osara in this new task that he has been saddled with.

He however made everyone to understand that his position is that of a Chief Servant who will be ready to give a listening ear and also welcome ideas that will take the university to greater heights.

He added that under his watch, “There would be no scope for favouritism, nepotism, personal likings and dislikings rather merit, merit and merit will be our mantra. To earn positions/promotions one would need to invest in their times and energies in achieving excellence in their respective domain.”

A segment of the activity drawn to welcome the new Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu was the welcoming remarks given by the Registrar, Bursar, University Librarian and the Director, Academic Planning of CUSTECH, Osara.

They all prayed for a successful term for the new Vice Chancellor, a man they all referred to as “a friend of the university who has finally come to stay and drive the affairs of the ivory tower ”

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Reference Hospital, Okene, Prof. Solomon Avidime was one of the two friends of Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu that accompanied him to his new office.

The other friend of his was Prof. Ibrahim Musa, Director, E-Learning at the Federal University, Lokoja. Prof. Solomon Avidime gave thanks to His Excellency, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello (CON) for bringing on board the new Vice Chancellor to pilot the affairs of CUSTECH, Osara.

In his words, “We will join hands with the Management Team of CUSTECH, Osara to successfully start the College of Medicine as the Governor in his magnanimity has made available a world class Reference Hospital in Okene which will go a long way in helping students that will be offering courses in the Medical Sciences.”

The Management Team, friends of the new Vice Chancellor and staff members of CUSTECH, Osara jointly took a group photograph which brought the welcoming event to an end.
