The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc has today 2nd July, 2025 attended the monthly meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) at the Kogi State Police Command Headquarters Lokoja.

The meeting was attended by PCRC executive members across Area Commands, Divisions and Local government areas within the State.

The session was marked by robust discussions on security collaboration, intelligence gathering, and community engagement.

The CP who actively participated in the deliberations emphasized the vital role of community policing in ensuring sustainable peace and security.

He passionately appealed to members of the PCRC and the public to view safety as a collective responsibility and contribute meaningfully through intelligence sharing and timely reporting of suspicious behaviours and activities within their neighborhood.

He further disclosed that security begins with the people and if you see something, say something. Noting that most of the crimes today pass through motor parks, neighborhoods, and markets. We need all hands on deck, residents, transport workers, business people to make our communities safer.

The CP further stressed the importance of building trust between the Police and the public, urging community members to support ongoing initiatives and participate fully in security-driven programs.

He acknowledged PCRC’s contributions to several command projects and encouraged members to maintain their unwavering commitment to mutual progress.

In her remarks, the Chairperson of PCRC zone 8 Lokoja Hajiya Rabietu Okute who double as the Hon. Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Kogi State, commended the CP for his leadership style and unwavering commitment to the safety of lives and property in the State.

Stressing that the open door policy of CP Dantawaye has enhanced collaboration for effective Policing in the State. She promised for continued support to the Police to improve their service delivery.

Also giving his remarks, the State Chairman, Elder Aaron Ali thanks the CP for finding time to attend the meeting which was engaging and impactful.

He assured that PCRC in Kogi State will continue to collaborate with the Police to make the State safe and secured for business.

In closing, CP Dantawaye reiterated his administration’s openness to partnership and innovation in Policing, calling on all stakeholders to synergize for a safer Kogi State.
