COVID-19; Igala/Bassa Relief Network Inaugurates Think Tank

In it’s efforts to address the rising health emergency of COVID-19, the IgalaBassa relief network, a palliative outfit, to mitigate the effects of the disease has being constituted .
The newly Inaugurated committee at it’s maiden virtual meeting consists of prominent Igala/Bassa sons and daughters from all walks of life, which include technocrats, professionals, the business class and others.
The activities of the new body is segmented into the elders advisory council, interim management board and the coordinating team.
Others are divulged into fund raising and relief collection committee, medical committee, contact and mobilisation committee, relief distribution committee. It also consists of quality control and audit committee, media committee, social media committee and professionals committee each headed by a chairman and it’s members.
The national coordinator of the body and chairman, Alhaji Yakubu Abdullahi says all hands must be on deck to ensure the targeted areas in the Igala Bassa land is captured in the onerous task of addressing the effects of the new disease.
He also summed up other areas to include health, education, empowerment,charity and other activities that will improve the living standards of average people within the communities.
He said the phenomenal dearth of infrastructural development, poor education, health, high unemployment rates, lack of portable water, insecurity,and no clear cut industrial base to prepare for the rapid social economic development of the area and others is not in tandem with the present realities.
The committees was inaugurated by Barrister Yunusa Ibrahim, a legal practitioner and notary public.
