Kwara state government has monetised the COVID-19 palliatives for the people of Kaiama in the northern axis of the the state because it difficult terrain.
The state government’s decision, it was gathered, was in response to the request of the political leaders in the area, regarded as the food basket of the state.
One of the political leaders in the area and state commissioner for Environment, Architect Aliyu Muhammad Saifudeen confirmed the state government’s gesture to newsmen during a telephone interview.
While thanking the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for acceeding to their request, Saifudeen said,” the entire people of Kaiama local government felt the impact of the palliatives which was monetized by the government in response to the request by their political leaders as the best option for their peculiarity as farmers and in view of the difficult terrain of the area in terms of mobility.
The commissioner under whose supervision the distribution of the money was made by two members of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Saidu Baba Ahmed and Hon. Abdullahi Halidu Danbaba conveyed the appreciation of the people of Kaiama and that of their traditional,religious and political leaders to the governor.
