A private business entrepreneur who is into the business of buying and selling of coal within Ankpa – Anyigba area of Kogi state, Mr Ejigah Sunday James has been arrested by the police for allegedly forging the signature of his business partner Ambassador Gabriel Onoja.

James was arrested on Friday in Lokoja, Kogi state by policemen from Gwarimpa division of Nigeria Police Force, Abuja the Federal Capital Territory.

The duo according to report were into coal business before things turn sour between the two businessmen, but in an effort to prove a case in the law court, Mr James allegedly did an agreement document of four pages dated 30th June, 2022 and forged the signature of his business partner (Onoja).

In view of the criminal act , Policemen from Gwarimpa division in Abuja through the Kogi state command of Nigeria Police Force got him arrested on Friday at the premises of one of the courts in Lokoja.

Commenting on the arrest, Ambassador Gabriel Onoja said when Mr James did the agreement document and asked him to sign, he declined for obvious reasons, but went ahead and forged his signature.

“Ejigah Sunday James did the agreement document and asked me to sign but I refused and he went ahead and criminally signed by signature” he stated.

He added that the accuse even included the name of his wife as witness in the purported agreement without her concert.

Effort to reach Mr James for his reaction was abortive as text message sent to him through his cell phone delivered but no respond.
