Following the widespread violence that Characterized the last Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections in Kogi east senatorial district, the Attah Igala and Chairman, Igala Traditional Council Idakwo Micheal Ameh Oboni 11, has placed an ancestral curse on the perpetrators of those violence.
The royal father who addressed newsmen on Saturday in his palace in Idah, the ancestral home of Igala Kingdom was speaking against the backdrop of the violence that marred the presidential and National Assembly elections which led to the cancellation of the National Assembly elections in 129 polling stations and led to the declaration of the elections inconclusive.
The violence also claimed the life of a three hundred level student of the Kogi state University, Ayingba.
The First Class Monarch who is also the chairman Kogi State council of Chiefs was visibly angry as he expressed dismay at the level of violence during the election and warned against repeat performance of such violence.
He decreed that anyone that engaged in assassination and their sponsors will be punished by Igala ancestoral spirits.
He therefore called on parents to call their children and wards to order to avoid incurring the wrath of the Igala ancestoral spirit that would be invoked to deal with any one perpetrating any act of violence in any part of the state and particularly Kogi east axis of the state.
The Royal father who lamented the spate of violence, describing it as unacceptable and unimaginable in a contest that was supposed to be for brothers, warned that any one behind the violence would also die by violence.
Flanked by over 30 traditional ruler the Attah described politics as game of numbers where only one person with highest number of votes emerges winner ,maintaining that democracy is not about killing.
He also warned bloggers and social media to stop castigating his personality with fake news and inconsequential blogs that had no positive impacts of the lives of the people.
