Failure of Kogi State Ministry of Education to check corruption presently going on in the education sector, Primary school teachers are set to embark on a protest against the Nigerian Union of Teachers over what they passives as inhuman treatment been meted on them by the state executives of the Union.
Spokesman of the aggrieved Teachers, Mr. Kunle Adams blamed the NUT state executives for massive corruption, and inhuman exhortation meted against them, lamented that this could be happening in a period when the APC led administration is fighting corruption.
According to him, the NUT state executives have fed fat on their little salaries, describing the Union as a harbinger of corruption.
He said that the Union has been deducting the sum of N1000 which translate to N14million naira monthly from their salaries on monthly basis to serve as impress for education secretaries.
This money that is shared between the NUT state executives and education secretaries the Union according to the aggrieved teachers were told was deducted because government no longer give impress to the ES.
He added that as if that was not enough, the NUT has now concluded arrangement to deduct another N1500 for identity cards, said the Economic and financial crime commission, describing the present NUT executives as presently constituted as made up of people feeding on the blood of teachers who have been pauperized, hungry with the Union only concern about their pockets.
The aggrieved teachers who have copied the ICPC also say they are angered by the N15000 the NUT receives from them before collation of the motorcycles purchased on their behalf by the Union, described their activities as fraudulent.
This amount collected for the motorcycles the aggrieved teachers explained is worrisome most especially that each executive member has about five to seven motorcycles in their Kitty, an amount borne by the teachers.
The teachers have vowed to vent their anger against the NUT by voting against the APC candidates, say they have directed their members to protest through voting as a way of attracting government attention to their plight.
