The All Progressive Congress Stakeholders Forum have rejected moves by the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to meet with the forum saying his request is belated.
It was gathered that in an effort to secure APC governorship ticket for his second term, the governor make several efforts to hold meeting with APC Stakeholders Forum.
Sources close to the forum disclosed to our correspondent that the governor wanted to use some top APC members to meet with the forum.
However, when the information got to the Chairman of the forum, Chief Alex Kadiri, he turned down the request.
His words, “I regret to say that the Governor’s request is belated. This lateness also applies to the intervention of the Bornu and FCT chairmen of the APC.
“You will recall that we have been in trenches for over three years. After due consultation with the Stakeholders overnight, and in view of the facts that we had presented to both the Tony Momoh and the Committees, as well as our extensive late hours discussion with the Vice president and lately, the delegation sent to the Forum a few weeks ago, the Forum believes that Governor knew what he out to do for last two years, but he didn’t .
“With the time now at 1/4 we don’t see a reason for his desire for a meeting with the Stakeholders of APC.
