The people of Apamaru community in Adavi Local Government Area have expressed their profound appreciation to Governor Usman Ododo for bringing relief and succour to their community through much-needed development projects.
This gratitude was conveyed today during a courtesy visit by the Community Project Management Committee (CPMC) of Apamaru to the management of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA).
Speaking on behalf of the community, the chairman of the CPMC, Mallam Musa Anda Momoh, praised Governor Ododo for his administration’s commitment to grassroots development. He highlighted the provision of water and a health clinic as transformative interventions that have significantly improved the quality of life in the community.
“This intervention is a blessing from God after many years of unsuccessful applications for support,” he said.
Muhammad Sani Jimoh, a longtime community leader who has lived in Apamaru for over three decades, shared how the agency’s intervention has positively impacted residents. He recounted the struggles the community faced before the provision of these essential amenities.
“Before this intervention, we had to travel long distances to Lokoja or Okene to access medical care. The establishment of a clinic in our community has changed that reality,” he said. Jimoh also used the opportunity to pray for the governor and the agency while urging the government to extend more development projects to Apamaru.
Welcoming the community delegation, the General Manager of KGCSDA, Chief Momoh Dauda, expressed his delight at the visit and attributed the success of the projects to Governor Ododo’s leadership and financial commitment. He commended the Apamaru community for their cooperation and dedication, which ensured the successful completion of the projects.
Chief Momoh further emphasized the strategic importance of Apamaru, given its proximity to the federal highway, and its potential role in emergency response efforts. To enhance sustainability and reduce operational costs, he revealed that the agency would explore the possibility of connecting the community to the national grid or a solar power solution.
The intervention in Apamaru was carried out under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Programme (NG-CARES), an initiative designed to support rural communities with essential services and economic resilience.
Apamaru, a multi-ethnic and multi-religious community along the Obajana Road, now looks forward to continued government presence and additional infrastructural development.
With these life-changing projects, the peopleg of Apamaru have renewed hope for a better future, thanks to the administration of Governor Usman Ododo and the efforts of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency.
