The Peoples Democratic Party has uncovered plans by the Kogi State Government to mass produce uniforms of the National Youths Service Corps for members of the All Progressive Congress who will serve as Polling and other electoral officers in the next Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections.
Austin Okai spokesman of the PDP PCC gave the hints in a statement in Lokoja, says the APC members who would be dressed in the NYSC uniforms would be used to replace the actual Corps members trained for the conduct of the elections
The PDP PCC spokesman said this is an uncovered plans to rig the coming elections, accused the state government, collaborating with INEC to perfect the plan.
The spokesman alleged that the state have collected Corps members NYSC number and allotted them to APC members who are to be used in place of the actual trained adhoc personnel, thus disallowing the original corps members from participating in the electoral duties.
The PDP PCC spokesman therefore called on the management of Kogi State NYSC intimating them of the compromise, called for vigilante on the part of the NYSC officials to forestall dragging the name of the corps into disrepute.
The PDP PCC bemoaned the heights of desperation that is been displayed by the state government, pointing out that having lost face and value, the APC has been outrightly rejected, thus, waste of time engaging in undemocratic tactics.
The PDP PCC therefore called on the Acting Inspector General of police to place his men on alert and arrest impersonators who would wear NYSC uniforms.
