The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB has congratulated the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Deputy, His Excellency, Chief Edward Onoja on the victory at the Supreme Court against the Governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP), Engr. Musa Wada and Barr. Natasha Apkoti.
Hon. Jones said the Supreme Court judgement delivered earlier today, disagreed with the appeal filed by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last Kogi Governorship Election; “it is a confirmation both of the perfect will of God and of the irrefutable choice of Kogi people. It also reinforces the confidence our people have in the judiciary. This is a good development for the advancement of democracy in our nation Nigeria and Africa at large as it goes a long way to pattern true democracy for other African nations”.
He also said that “transparent, accountable, competent and committed leadership, is the model leadership people crave for world over, and the combination of Governor Yahaya Bello and Chief Edward Onoja is a model of this kind of leadership and this victory shows that in the November 2019 elections, Kogi people overwhelmingly voted for the Governor and his Deputy, therefore no amount of opposition can contest that mandate”.
The Commissioner also noted that it is time for Kogi people from all political parties and all ethnic subgroups to rise up and support our God ordained Governor Bello, thereby embracing the spirit of sportsmanship.
He used the opportunity to pledge his utmost commitment to the success of Governor Bello’s administration.
Signed:
Media Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Kogi State.
