Chief Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Atunluse of Otafun Amuro, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of the Oludero of Otafun Amuro, His Royal Highness Oba Kayode Atteh, describing the monarch’s transition as a great loss to the community and Mopamuro Local Government Area.
In a condolence message jointly signed with his wife, Mrs. Ruth Roseline Fanwo, the Yeye Atunluse of Otafun Amuro, Fanwo said the late monarch dedicated his life to the service of his people and remained steadfast in preserving the traditions, culture and values of Otafun Amuro.
The couple extended their condolences to the Otafun Traditional Council, the Otafun Amuro Development Association (ODA), the Alamuro of Amuro, the Amuro Traditional Council, the royal family and the entire people of Otafun Amuro, praying for the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Fanwo noted that the demise of a traditional ruler serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility of community members to preserve the peace, unity and rich heritage handed down by their forebears.
He called on the people of Otafun Amuro to use the period of mourning for sober reflection while celebrating the remarkable life and service of the departed monarch.
“The late Oludero contributed immensely to the development of our community before joining his ancestors. His reign was characterised by a genuine commitment to peace, unity and progress, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” Fanwo said.
He further urged sons and daughters of Otafun Amuro, both at home and in the diaspora, to remain united and committed to the ideals championed by the late traditional ruler, stressing that sustaining peace and pursuing the development of the community would be the greatest tribute to his memory.
The Atunluse prayed for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and asked God to grant the people of Otafun Amuro wisdom, strength and unity as they mourn their revered royal father.
