Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has appointed Hon. Ibrahim Usman Anataku as the new Comptroller-General of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS), with a mandate to strengthen the state’s fight against insecurity.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Vigilante Service, Idris Suleiman Idris, on Saturday.
According to the statement, Anataku, a retired senior police officer, has already assumed office and is actively leading security operations across the state.
The new Comptroller-General brings over 35 years of experience in law enforcement, with expertise in counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism, anti-robbery, anti-kidnapping, and covert operations gained during his service in the Nigeria Police Force.
Expressing appreciation to Governor Ododo for the appointment, Anataku pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by working closely with security agencies and members of the public to achieve the administration’s goal of making Kogi State crime-free.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration in tackling insecurity and called on residents to support security efforts by providing timely and actionable intelligence.
The KSVS boss assured members of the public that all information provided, as well as the identities of informants, would be treated with the highest level of confidentiality.
