Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on residents of the state to embrace the values of sacrifice, love, peace and compassion as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

Speaking during the celebration, Governor Ododo urged the people of Kogi State to extend support to the less privileged and continue praying for Nigeria and its leaders.

According to him, Eid-el-Kabir is a period that teaches selflessness and care for one another.

“I urge my people, the good people of Kogi State, to support the needy and pray for our nation. Let us pray for Mr President and all our leaders for wisdom and divine guidance,” he said.

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining security across the state, describing security as a continuous responsibility.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies and residents of the state for their cooperation and credible intelligence gathering, which he said has contributed significantly to keeping the state safe.

“Security is a continuous task and I want to assure you that we will not relent. I commend Mr President, security agencies and the good people of Kogi State for their support and credible intelligence that they are providing at all times,” Ododo stated.

“By the special grace of God, we will continue to work together to keep Kogi safe and secure,” he added.

Speaking on the ongoing rebranding and renewed image of Kogi State under his administration, Governor Ododo dismissed suggestions that there was any “magic” behind the transformation.

He said the state’s positive image depends largely on how its people present and speak about it.

“There is no magic. You address how you want to be addressed. The image of our state depends on what we say about our state,” he said.

The governor noted that Kogi State is richly blessed with enormous potential in agriculture, solid minerals, culture and tourism, stressing that his administration is determined to showcase those strengths to attract development and investors.

“So a state that has this, we need to project it and let me tell you we are determined to showcase our strength and create an image that will attract development. Investors will be coming because Kogi State is safe and that is what we are doing,” he said.
