Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, on Saturday held a strategic meeting with Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, aimed at strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement issued by an aide to Senator Karimi, the meeting focused on deepening unity and cohesion within the ruling party in Kogi State as part of efforts to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the next electoral cycle.
The two leaders reportedly stressed the importance of early political mobilization, grassroots engagement, and reconciliation among aggrieved party members to further consolidate the party’s dominance across the state.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the APC’s strong political structure in Kogi, noting that internal harmony would play a crucial role in the party’s success in the 2027 polls.
The APC currently controls the governorship in Kogi State and enjoys majority representation in the state legislature and other elective positions.
Party stakeholders believe maintaining unity within its ranks remains key to retaining power in the state.
