The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has dismissed what it described as attempts by certain individuals to incite members in Mozum Ward, declaring such actions null and void.
In a statement issued by the Media Adviser to the State Chairman, Abu Michael, the party condemned the alleged activities of some Ward Executives, noting that they are yet to be formally inaugurated and therefore lack the authority to act on behalf of the party.
The statement described their actions as a clear violation of the PDP constitution.
According to the party, a committee has been constituted to investigate the incident and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures against those found culpable.
The PDP reaffirmed that Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo remains the duly recognized State Chairman, urging party faithful and the general public to disregard what it called misinformation being circulated.
It further commended Gambo’s leadership, describing it as exemplary and noting that no formal petitions have been filed against him.
The party also blamed the situation on a former lawmaker now aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC), alongside what it termed disgruntled elements, accusing them of attempting to destabilize the party.
Meanwhile, the PDP in Mozum Ward has distanced itself from the alleged actions, calling on members to remain calm and united as the leadership of Hon. Gambo continues to steer the affairs of the party in the state.
