Mr. Peter Omoh Dunia, alias Peter Black, has expressed gratitude to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for signing the 2025 Act, paving the way for the establishment of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) in Okerenkoko, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, describing the President as a visionary leader and High Chief (Dr) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo as beacon of hope of oil rich Niger Delta Region.

In a Thank You Message to the President, Peter Black hailed him for the NMU 2025 Act and pledged continued support for his administration.

Specifically, he said the NMU 2025 Act is a testament to the President’s commitment to developing the Niger Delta region.

The NMU is expected to promote academic excellence, research, and innovation in the region, while also driving socio-economic development in its catchment areas. The university’s establishment has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of key stakeholders, including High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, the Chairman/Chief Executive of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) who provided initial infrastructure support.

According to him, President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated its devotion to the development of the Niger Delta Region, adding that the signing of the NMU 2025 Act is a significant step forward.

He said that; “I am prompted with a heart full of joy and admiration for our President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for signing into law the 2025 Act, enabling the establishment of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State. The decision symbolized Mr. President’s visionary leadership, and has become the turning point for a full takeoff of the university.
I am therefore honoured to witness and acknowledge this great achievement”.

“Mr. President, sir, your administration’s devotion to the development of the Niger Delta is evident in this singular act. The Nigeria Maritime University will surely promote academic excellence, research and innovations in the region. It will also engender socio-economic development of its catchment areas”, he added.

He also said that; “In the same vein, I also seize this opportunity to appreciate our “General Officer Commanding (GOC)”, High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, the Chairman/Chief Executive of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) for his instrumental role in ensuring the success of the institution. His provision of the initial infrastructure for the takeoff of the institution is commendable”.

Tompolo, he said, has been the ray of hope for the region, championing their demand for good governance inclusiveness, saying that;
“The people of the region shall continue to be grateful to him. Particularly, GOC’s contributions, and that of, Mr. President, in ensuring that NMU become legally operational are invaluable and will remain etched in our hearts”.

“Mr. President’s commitment to giving priority to matters concerning the Niger Delta is unalloyed. And as a loyal son of the region, I pledge my continued support for this administration. I am confident that Mr President’s leadership will continue to bring significant development to the region. May the Almighty God protect and guide Mr. President and High Chief Tompolo, as they give listening ears to the needs of the Niger Delta. Accept the assurances of my unreserved gratitude” he said.
