THE former Special Adviser Media and Strategy to the immediate governor of Kogi State, Mr. Jacob Edi has called on the people of the state to rally round Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for second term.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja , Edi a Journalist by profession said
he decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC) where he worked as Head of Research at the National Secretariat during the last prrsidentoal election.
“I left PDP as a result of certain unsavory devlpmnt before the PDP presidential primaries. It was obvious that former gov Ibrahim Idris was not willing to accommodate some of us who worked with Capt. Wada while he was governor.
“Several committees were constituted without some of being involved. With this devlpmnt seeking political relevance in another party became inevitable.
Yes, I am supporting Bello for a second term and all facts considered I am of the view that he should have a second term.
‘I am also confident he will win the Nov elections. The philosophy of having a second term by the framers of the Constitution is to allow for correction in the second term. If you look critically , even the environment is designed for an incumbent to emerge,” he said.
According to him, since he came into APC, he had studied the Bello administration and what he can tell is that the man has a strong character.
“This is a very important tool of power especially in a clime where democracy is still at infancy.
I am also confident he will do things differently in his second term. My people of Bassa local govt are desirous of more devlpmntal packages.
“We have suffered alot of marginalization in the past and we believe that the Bello govt will do more than he’s done already especially in repositioning the local government within our Dekina-Bassa Federal constituency. And the only way to do this is work for his victory at the polls.
