The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yayaha Bello has inaugurated the campaign council of the All progressive Congress, (APC) saying the era of monkey dey work, baboon dey chop is over, now monkey go work, monkey go chop” he said.

He a promise to carry every member of the party along in the campaign process.

The inauguration which was held on Tuesday at the Lugard House in Lokoja was witnessed by party supporters across the state and beyond.

To underscore his promises if inclusive campaign process, the governor asked the State Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Abdullah Bello to enlarge the list to include everyone in one committee or the other.

He also called on the campaign council not to preach ethnicity or religion but base their campaign on issues bothering on what the government had achieved in the last eight years and the ability of Ododo to do the same and even surpass them.

Bello called on members not to join issues with others who do not have anything to offer in terms of adding value to the state and it’s inhabitants.

“Forget about liars, whose stuck in trade is thuggery with nothing to offer. Go out there and there, preach what we have on ground in terms of infrastructure, not about ethnicity,Kogi state belongs to all of us. I have always said that Kogi state has the potential to be great if only we stopped playing politics of ethnicity”

He call on every member of the party to work together to achieve victory in the November 11 election.
“I want all of you to go and work to the success of the party and you will be adequately rewarded”. He added.

The State Director-General of the Kogi APC 2023 Gubernatorial Campaign Council and Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Audu in his remarks urged Kogi indigenes to unite and support the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Alhaji Usman Ododo at the forth coming gubernatorial elections so as to benefit maximally from the numerous programmes, plans and initiatives of the President Tinubu led administration.

He added that citizens should desist from the idea that a party without strong representation at the center and a political structure at strategic levels of government will win the gubernatorial polls and make any remarkable impact to the growth and development of the state. The DG again charged the people to shun ethnic agenda which according to him would not bring about development to the state.

The pointed out that his father, the late Prince Abubakar Audu had a Pan-Kogi vision, which did not focus on the growth and development of one region but the state in entirety, a cause which he championed in his lifetime, noting that any agenda that focuses on the single ethnic group without considering the challenges and the broad nature of Kogi politics is serving a selfish interest.

He noted that in the last eight years, Governor Yahaya Bello has built on his father’s vision for the state and has further demonstrated his legacy through appointments, distribution and execution of projects across the three senatorial districts of the state without bias or sentiment.
