The Management Staff of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara led by the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku today hosted the visiting Ejeh Ofu, His Royal Highness (HRH), Alh. Akwu Obaje and his entourage to the university community.

The visit started with opening prayers from the three faiths that is, Christianity and Islam. Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku presented kolanuts to the visiting Ejeh Ofu which he used in making prayers in the traditional way.

The Head of the Public Relations Unit, Balogun Omeiza David introduced the Management Staff and other senior staff members of the university to the Royal guests which were received in the offiice of the Vice Chancellor.

In attendance were; the Bursar, Mr. John Alaji and the University Librarian, Mr. John Salifu. Other senior staff members that joined the Management Staff to welcome the Ejeh Ofu were the Director, Academic Planning, Pharm. Asuku Audu, Director, Physical Planning, Bldr. Ismaila Ibrahim Adoke and the Director, Works and Maintenance, Arc. Ahmed Usman.

The Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku in his speech thanked the Ejeh Ofu, Alh. Akwu Obaje for travelling all the way down to Osara where CUSTECH is located to pay visit to the institution.

In his welcome speech, Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku thanked His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State as a visionary leader who saw the dire need to come up with an ivory tower in CUSTECH Osara, an institution he described as one that has helped students in Kogi State and outside its shores to read the courses of their choice which was a hard nut for secondary school leavers, especially those craving for science oriented courses to crack before now.

Responding to the welcome speech of the Vice Chancellor, Ejeh Ofu, Alh. Akwu Obaje appreciated the Management Staff and the entire CUSTECH, Osara community for the warm welcome given to him and his entourage. He said, “I have seen a lot about CUSTECH, Osara on the social media and also have read a whole lot about this academic community.

“That was one of the reasons I made up my mind to pay visit and see things for myself.” He added that “the Ofu Traditional Council meets often with institutions in Kogi State and my coming has given me a better gospel to preach about what I have seen with my naked eyes at CUSTECH, Osara.”

He went on to pray that God Almighty will sustain the government of the day which gave birth to this citadel of higher learning, the Management Staff and all the staff members working to see to the day to day activities of CUSTECH, Osara.

Another vital part of the courtesy visit by the Ejeh Ofu was the journey to the permanent site of CUSTECH, Osara where the Vice Chancellor, the Management Staff and other staff members took him and his entourage round the ongoing construction of the ring circle road network to see the different constructions that are going on presently at the site.

The courtesy visit of the Ejeh Ofu and his entourage was climaxed by the signing of the CUSTECH, Osara Visitors Book and also the taking of group photographs.
