The Director General of Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik has called on students of tertiary institutions in the state to come out enmasse and vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for continuity.
Describing every vote for APC as a vote in the right direction, the DG admonished them to make the right choice in candidates of the rulling party for assurance of a brighter future for them and posterity.
He made the call when the executives of the National Association of Ebirra Students of the Kogi State Polytechnic paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
He also admonished the students to remain peaceful, avoid criminality, violence or other vices that might tarnish their image while performing their civic responsibility.
He advised them to learn from the mistake of protagonists of political violence of old who lost their lives miserably, saying there was nothing positive that could ever emanate from the display of violence.
He encouraged them to also preach the message of peace to their colleagues, broadcasting good tidings that would aid peaceful conduct of a free, fair and credible elections in the State.
While pledging continued support of the Bureau to the programmes of the association, the DG urged them to always make the activities of the union known to the Bureau ahead of time.
Earlier, the chairman of the association, Onivehu Habeeb said the purpose of the visit was to commend the DG for his contributions towards societal development and to thank him for his fatherly role over students in the state especially members of his association.
