Vice chairman, Kwara state council of traditional rulers and the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, has advised Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to focus on development projects being embarked on rather than being swayed by destructive criticism of some political opponents.
Speaking during an empowerment programme of 500 selected less privileged in Offa, Offa local government area of the state on Wednesday, the traditional ruler said that the governor should not lose focus on delivering the dividends of democracy due to what he described as rantings of a vocal minority.
The monarch, who endorsed Governor Abdulrazaq for second term, said that his continued development strides are capable to silence opposition members.
Oba Gbadamosi, who was the royal father of the day at the event, lauded the efforts of the founder of the foundation, Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed, saying that his philanthropic activities mirror that of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
The empowerment programme, organized in honour of Governor Abdulrazaq, witnessed empowerment activities through various community support interventions, scholarships, skills acquisition training sponsorship, presentation of cash and enrolment into health insurance scheme to youths, aged women, students and people with disabilities.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhyideen Salman Hussein delivered the first annual Ramadan lecture of the foundation, commending the community support initiative of the founder, Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed.
Also speaking, founder of foundation, Mallam Abdullahi Abdulmajeed, said that the foundation will sustain its empowerment project and monitor beneficiaries of scholarship and skills acquisition training sponsorship very well to become better persons in life.
According to him, beneficiaries of the skills acquisition training would learn fashion design, cosmetology, ICT, photography, among other vocations.
His Royal Majesty, the Olofa of Offa was the Royal Father of the day, while
Dignitaries at the event include the
chairman of the occasion,
Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, among others as Sen. Makanjuola Ajadi, Alhaji Salman Oyeleke, Bar. Kunle Sulyman, Alh. Raheem Adedoyin, Hon. Kale Oloje, Hon. Femi Agbaje Whyte, Hon. Tunji Oladipo, Hon. Rotimi Iliyasu, Hon. Musbau Esinrogunjo, Hon. Ibrahim Akaje.
Others are, Alhaja Risikat Alabi, Executive Secretary of Kwara State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Bunmi Jetawo-Winter, Alhaja Aolat Dundu, Alhaja Wosilat Macarthy, Alhaja Aminat Gbolasere (Iya Ewe), Alhaja Taiye Omotosho, Alhaja Nimotallahi Folake Shittu.
