The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Moh’d Jamiu have stated clearly that there were no permanent friend or foe in politics, hence his facilitation of the meeting between Governor Yahaya Bello and a repentant party loyalist Comrade Oladele John Nihi shouldn’t generate negative reactions.
He opined that as the Chief of Staff to his Principal he plays a major role of relieving pressure from his principal and the system by winning and making more friends for the system.
The COS pointed out that he would have been silence on the issue but such action might be tantamount to acceptance of blame or wrong doing which was not the case.
He expressed that Cmrd Oladele Nihi was an ardent supporter of the party who worked against the decision of the system in the past and even went so wild to engage in destructive criticism.
He said “In recent time, he has decided to redeem his image and has been in talking terms with me pleading for a chance to meet His Excellency to tender an apology, haven realized that he made mistakes in the past”.
Pharm. Abdulkareem noted that “If he decided to make a way for him to apologize to our leader, I don’t see anything wrong that should warrant anyone to go hay wire”
He added that “Even God Almighty the creator of the universe encourages us to seek for forgiveness at all time for our sins. Why then should anyone be offended when one of us who went astray decided to seek for forgiveness and come back home”?
He assured that Governor Yahaya Bello as a good leader meant well for all and he was striving to uphold this tenant.
The COS remarked further in the same country Governors of the All Progressive Congress graced the occasion of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s birthday noting that such was a display of maturity and true leadership.
He added that “if Sen. Dino Melaye and others decide to redeem their image today and sought to make peace with GYB, I will gladly create an Avenue for them to meet with His Excellency without any delay as that will go a long way to bringing peace to our dear state which is my core mandate as Chief of Staff”
