The Kogi State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Friday said the party will be fielding 21 and 239 candidates for the Chairmanship and councillorship positions for the December local government councils elections.
The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Muktar Atimah while speaking with newsmen said the party is fully ready for the forth coming council polls slated for December this year.
He noted that the party is going to contest to win adding that if the electoral umpires are fair and just then the All Progressive Congress (APC) is in trouble.
‘It had never been this bad for for the people at the local level.No salaries, no developmental projects and high rate of insecurity.
Kogi local government council elections is expected to be conducted December 12.
Already the All Progressive Congress, the People’s Democratic Party and Social Democratic Party are the major parties that are going to field candidates for the chairmanship and councillorship positions.
Just last week all three parties have conducted primaries for their aspirants where candidates were elected.
