
Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris has inaugurated a political mobilisation committee to coordinate support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Isanlu, drew party faithful, community leaders, youth groups and women representatives from across the Yagba federal constuency.
Speaking at the event, the commissioner said the committee was established to strengthen grassroots support for both leaders and to ensure that the achievements of the Tinubu administration at the federal level and the Ododo administration in Kogi State are adequately communicated to the people.
He stated that the committee would work across the Yagba federal constuency to mobilise residents, engage stakeholders and promote unity within the party.
According to him, President Tinubu has continued to pursue reforms aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy, while Governor Ododo has sustained development initiatives in Kogi State through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare and security.
“The task before this committee is to take the message of continuity and progress to every ward and polling unit across Yagba federal constuency. We must remain united and committed to ensuring victory for President Tinubu and Governor Ododo in 2027,” he said.
The commissioner charged members of the committee to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, discipline and fairness, noting that their assignment would be crucial to the success of the campaign.
In his remarks, the chairman of the newly inaugurated committee expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in the members and assured that they would work tirelessly to deliver on their mandate.
He said the committee would immediately begin consultations with stakeholders, traditional rulers, market women, youths and other interest groups across the state.
Some of the party supporters present at the event described the inauguration as a major step toward consolidating the party’s structure in Kogi State ahead of the next election cycle.
The event ended with a renewed pledge by members of the committee to work for the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, as supporters chanted slogans in support of both leaders.
