Former Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State would win the 2027 general elections overwhelmingly based on their performances.

Prince Kolawole, stated this on during his official declaration programme in Kabba, headquarters of Kogi west senatorial district of his aspiration to contest for House of Representative to represent Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters, Prince Kolawole said President Bola Tinubu’s achievements in various sectors of the economy and the steps taken so far to tackle insecurity in the country has endeared him in the heart of Nigerians for second term in office, assuring that the president’s re-election is not negotiable.

“APC is becoming stronger every day with new members joining the party in drove. Today APC controlled many states and there is nothing to fear as far as the 2027 presidential election is concern. His achievements will speaks for him” he stated.

Speaking on the second term bid of Governor Ododo, Prince Kolawole said his humility and achievements in the areas of education, health , empowerment, infrastructural development at the rural communities would guarantee him second term in office.

“Governor Ododo will definitely win his second term because he is a man full of humility. From the enormous dividend of democracy he has brought to the people at the rural areas I am confident that Governor Ododo will win his second term with ease” Prince Kolawole stated.

He added that the Governor possesses all the requisite knowledge and all it would take to lead the state to its promised land.

‎Speaking on his aspiration, the immediate past Speaker of Kogi state house of assembly, said that the need for quality representation informed his decision to join the race, noting that he had joined the race to enable him bring his wealth of experience to bear in the service of his constituents at the national level.

“First and foremost, I did not lose at the last 2023 general election, rather, I was short changed by some forces.

‎”The election was declared inconclusive along side that of Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency. While we were preparing for the supplementary election, another candidate was declared winner.

‎”By law, such declaration must be made within seven days, but ours was made ten days later; because of some vested interest that took my victory away.
‎
‎”My intention now is to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat to represent the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu constituency under APC come 2027″ he stated .

While expressing confidence that he would win the next election, Prince Kolawole said his supporters are still intact waiting for 2027 to cast his votes for him again.

“I am confident that those who voted for me that day and many other people are very ready to vote for me again . I am optimistic that by the special grace of God Almighty we will win the next election.

“While in the State House of Assembly, I have used my office to facilitate over 100 employment for our youth, I facilitated projects to the constituency, provided boreholes, youth and widows empowerment, rural electrification, skill acquisition, scholarship to students of less privilege both at secondary school level and tertiary institutions among others”, he said.

“I believe that if by God grace I get to the House of Representative, I will be able to facilitate more dividend of democracy to my people because my passion in life is service to humanity. Even when I am out of office I still continue my empowernment programmes” he stated.

‎He commended the party members across the 30 wards in the federal constituency who graced the occasion, urging them to continue to support the party for its overall success in the area come 2027.

‎In his goodwill message, a stalwart of APC in the state and a Prince from Ogidi community, Kamaludeen
Oluwatoyin, said that “it is a crystal clear that Kolawole impact was felt at Ijumu local government reason for the high turnout at today’s event.

“The former Speaker gave empowernment and jobs to many sons and daughters of Ijumu local government without sentiment and we are ready to reciprocate Kolawole’s kind gesture back to him at the poll.

“I am optimistic that kolawole will win next House of Representative election by God grace because he has done much and he has sacrifice so much for the people of Ijumu local government. We are ready to give him our votes comes 2027 general election” he assured.
