Abdulahad Muhammed
The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council in Kogi State has alleged that the All Progressive Congress led Kogi State Government is planning a massive clamp down, abduction and kidnap of PDP leaders and Stalwarts across Various Wards in the State.
The arrest is to pave way for the manipulation and rigging of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections slated for Saturday February 16 2019 in their favour.
The Spokesman PDPPCC
Kogi State, Austin Okai who disclosed this in a press statement said
PDPPCC in Kogi State hereby wish to alert the World, the Security Agencies and particularly the Inspector General of Police of this planned clamp down.
“At the moment, the State Government, from reliable sources, is said to have mobilized and dispatched mobile policemen and armed thugs to all the Local Government Areas in the State in a bid to intimidate the electorate, oppress the opposition Party which is fast gaining grounds and rig the elections.
“One will recall that last year, a large amount of Military Hardware were reportedly imported by the Government of the State unconstitutionally and the matter is the subject of a pending investigation at the National Assembly.
“The Governor of the State has refused to campaign save for the Presidential Rally of APC held few weeks ago, despite its Huge Salary arrears to civil servants and several other unpopular policies, perhaps because of the ruling Party’s plans to rig the elections,” he noted
He mentioned that the PDPPCC is worried that the APC led government in Kogi State will resort to this desperate, nefarious and barbaric act in its bid to perpetuate it’s unpopular rule on the people of the State who are already tired of their misadventure in power.
According to the statement, is obvious that the People’s Democratic Party is coasting home to victory in the forthcoming Saturday’s election and the APC is jittery about their imminent defeat and have now resolved to Kidnap of stalwart of the PDP in the entire State particularly in the Western Senatorial District in a bid to manipulate the elections and unleash violence on the people in a bid to intimidate the people.
He alleged that Men with arms have been dispatched to all the Local Government Councils Specifically, in Kogi West Senatorial District, as Hon Eric Fiki a former Special Adviser to the State Government and former Legislator has been allegedly pencilled down for abduction ahead of the election.
“Also a former Vice Chairman in Yagba West, Hon. Omoniyi, and others are allegedly on the black list of the Government’s men including Akin Adeoye and Hon. Ipinyomi to name a few.
“An event that corroborates the planned use of force by the APC government was the physical assault on the school principal of a school in Amuro earlier today by the APC House of Representatives candidate in Yagba Federal Constituency.
“The head of School removed all Posters of Political Parties in the school in order not to expose the pupils to politics too early, but the APC House of Representatives candidate Henry Abimbola slapped the Head of School Teacher under the supervision of the Local Government Administrator and she was handed over to the Police,” he noted
The Party therefore called on the Inspector General of Police, all Heads of Security Agencies and the International Community to intervene this undemocratic plan in a bid to ensure peace, security of lives and property during and after the forthcoming elections
