17 political parties in Kogi State have adopted Prince Mustapha Mona Audu as the next governor of Kogi State.
The governorship election in the Kogi State comes up in November this year.
Prince Mustapha Mona Audu who is one of the son of the former governor of Kogi State, late Prince Abubakar Audu is the governorship aspirant of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
Addressing thousand of his supporters in Lokoja on Wednesday while declaring his intention to contest for Kogi State governorship election, he said the 17 political parties adopted him because of the quality he posses.
Mustapha Mona Audu, declared his intention to contest for this year’s governorship election in the state.
Mustapha Audu, who expressed dismay that civil servants were suffering, also condemned the total neglect of the state.
He mentioned that he was contesting in order to liberate the people of the state from poverty and negligent by the present government in the state .
Prince Audu who lamented that Kogi State is yet to developed since the creation of the state with other states, said if elected he will embark on infrastructural development so that Kogi State can meet up with other states created alongside with the state.
He pointed out that if elected the issue of civil servant in the state will be solved immediately particularly in the area of workers welfare and salary.
He also promised to bring dividend of democracy closer to the people as his administration will embark on meaningful development.
“Today is the beginning of our freedom, Lugard House gate is open. We shall occupy it.
” We are tired of half salary, no school fees, we are tired of suicide in Kogi State. Today we are ready to move Kogi forward,” he stated.
He assured the people of the state of his readiness to govern the state and bring meaningful development if given the chance.
