A community leader and retired Director at the National Youth Service Corps, Alhaji Zakari Dare Ejibunu has been elected as the President General of Kabba Development Union
The electoral officers under the Chairmanship of Bar. Boluromi Folorunsho Emmanuel conducted the elections into various position to serve as executive of the Union for a period of four years in the first instance.
After the Congress and election of the National executives, Alhaji Zakari Dare Ejibunu were elected as the new President General of Kabba Development Union, other elected members are Hon. Kayode Egbebi, First Vice President General (Home), Mr. Paul Adeoti as Second Vice President General (West), Dr. Femi Olorunmowaju as Third Vice President General (North), Mr. Emmanuel Ojo as Fourth Vice President General (Lokoja), Mr. Micheal Toluhi as General Secretary, Catechist Raphael Oshoko as Assistant General Secretary, Adeniyi Gbenga Wisdom as National Treasurer, Mr. Kehinde Philips as Auditor General, Chief Oloruntoba Joshua as National Financial Secretary.
Others are Chief Henry Tolufashe National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ige Joseph, National Social Secretary, Mrs. Ibikemi Leke, Woman Representatives(I), Mrs. Olu Fashagba as Woman Representatives (II) respectively
In his post election speech, the newly elected President General of Kabba Development Union, Alhaji Zakari Dare Ejibunu thanked the good people of Kabba for the show of maturity during the election and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him. He promised to work with everyone in moving the Union forward
Alhaji Zakari Dare Ejibunu commended the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Dr. Solomon Dele Owoniyi for his role in sustaining peace and development in the headquarters of Kogi West senatorial district promised to collaborate with the revered monarch and his subject for the overall development of the area. He assured them that Kabba Development Union would provide enabling environment and open door policy under his leadership while expressed his desires to be transparent and also embark on town hall meetings so as to carry all along in the scheme of things.
After the congress and election, the newly elected President General, Kabba Development Union Alhaji Zakari Dare Ejibunu and all his members paid a courtesy visit to the Obaro of Kabba for the monarch blessing for a fruitful and eventful tenure. Other notable traditional rulers at the Obaro’s palace are, The Obadofin of Oweland, The Obajemu of Oweland, The Obajana of Oweland, The Oba of Odolu Kabba, The Oba of Otu Kabba, The Oba of Iduge, The Oba of Adesuwa, The Oba of Kakun, The Oba of Aiyedun, The Obareka of Kabba, The Oba of Ogbagba Surulere, The Oba of Iyah, Elesho of Oweland, Family/Clan Heads, High Chiefs, Youth and Women groups, among others were on hand to welcome and received the new executive members of the union
