Senator Atai Aidoko has commence Uninterrupted water supply to the people of his Community Ugbamaka Iga,other neighbouring Communities to enable them Celebrate the forthcoming Christmas and New year.
The gesture is to be provided through the functional borehole constructed during the 8th Senate of the Federal Lawmaker.
Aidoko’s relief through 24 hours water supply will mitigate the water scarcity prevalent in the area, at the peak of dry season.
This developement will also ensure smooth and unimpeded celebration of Christmas and new year beginning from this week.
Kogi east senator in the 8th Senate, says the need to provide all round the clock water supply is a routine and as a result the influx of members of the community, that will be home for the celebrations and the Neighbouring Communities in the area.
According to the release,this positive developement will also forestall the outbreak of any water borne related diseases to members of the community and it’s adjoining ones.
The gesture is also to comply with the protocols of COVID-19 whose second wave is at its peak,so that proper hygiene will be strictly observed through washing of hand with clean water and soap.
This developement will enable Communities and it’s sorroundings to avail themselves of this opportunity not to consume non portable water point spread across the community and river water.
The engine powered borehole was part of the Constituency projects provided in the Nine local government areas, both in the 7th and the 8th Senate by the Senator.
The functional borehole is being managed through the monthly intervention by the Senator to reticulate water to the community and it’s adjoining ones, and communal efforts by making available diesel fuel (AGO), to power the generator.
The high tech electricity connected to Ugbamaka Iga village spread to Iga Ikeje and it’s environs by the Senator ,also assist when light is restored from time to time by AEDC in the area.
Some members of the community and it’s environs commended the singular efforts of the ex- Lawmaker,saying this will reduce to the barest minimum the health hazards of the people of the area.
Reports closely monitored indicated that members of adjoining Communities have trooped out to Ugbamaka Iga, with Bicycles,Motorcycles and in some instances trekking down to access the free and uninterrupted water supply in the community.
Some members of the community who pleaded anonimity appreciate the Senator for his well thought out gesture, at this critical global health challenges of COVID-19 era.
They says the area cannot afford to risk any emergency Health situation at this period of recession in Nigeria, and across the globe.
