Alhaji Yakubu Oseni, the winner of the just concluded Kogi Central Senatorial polls has assured his teeming supporters not to lose sleep over possible legal battle that may be initiated by his major challenger, Barr Natasha Apokti of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The Kogi Central Senator-elect made this known recently in Lokoja while reacting to many online publications by handlers of the SDP candidate (Barr Natasha) declaring her readiness to challenge the result at the Election Petition Tribunal.
According to Alhaji Yakubu Oseni, democracy as a system of government is such a beautiful system that permits any aggrieved candidate to seek redress at the appropriate quarters and the just concluded election is not an exception.
“The election has been won and lost. It was adjudged the freest in the recent times by both local and international observers. The people of Kogi Central have spoken in the clearest term by giving me the mandate. Nobody should lose sleep over legal challenge that has no basis and is obviously heading to nullity”, he affirmed.
While assessing the conduct of the election, Alhaji Yakubu Oseni who appreciated the people of Kogi Central for orderly manner during and after the election commended for their display of maturity even in the face of needless provocation by oppositions.
He emphasized that their efforts to change the narratives of the Senatorial District by giving him the mandate will be matched with robust legislative business when the 9th Senate is constituted.
He further urged his constituents to massively troop out and vote all APC candidates in the forthcoming State Assembly election in order to consolidate the achievements and gains made by Governor Yahaya Bello-led administration in the state.
