There was wild jubilations on Saturday when Kogi state Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello commissioned the Igala Unity House and flagged off the construction of Dekina township road down to the University town of Ayingba all in Dekina local government area of the state.
He also included the construction of the Ejeh of Dekina palace road in the project expected to be completed in nine months
Speaking at the palace of the Ejeh of Dekina, Alhaji Usman Obaje while on courtesy call shortly before flagging off of Dekina township road,the Governor said that he was committed to lifting the living standard of the people by restoring hope to the neglected people of Dekina.
“I am always happy when I intervene and help people around me,so am happy today that God has placed the responsibility of uplifting the standard of living of my people on my shoulder and I will not fail” the Governor said.
Also speaking at Ayingba while commissioning the Igala Unity House, the Governor said that the house should serve as rallying point for all Igala people.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of staff to the Governor Edward Onija,said that the commissioning and the support received from the Governor and the entire cabinet as well as the state Assembly was a demonstration of the complete love Bello had for the Igala race.
He described the house as a unifying factor for the Igala race at home and in diaspora.
The Nine Kilometers road was first awarded in 2014 during the immediate past administration of Captain Idris Wada but was abandoned as no construction work was ever carried out since the flag off up till the end of that regime.
