Uniform Vigilantes and hunters at Iyamoye Community in Ijumu local government area of kogi state have rescued two victims kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the area.
The victims were in a private vehicle coming from Ilorin to Kabba kogi State when their vehicle was attacked by suspected herdsmen and taken into the bush between Iyamoye and Ekinrin Adde communities.
When the news of the kidnapping got to the village, the community rallied the hunters and the uniform vigilante members for the rescue mission which lasted about four hours of search before the victims were rescued unhurt and taken to the Palace of His Royal Highness, Oba Ibrahim Ade Momoh, the Obaro of Iyamoye.
The Obaro commended the prompt response and dexterity exhibited by the committed hunters and uniform vigilante which he said called for appreciation and commendation by the community and the State Government.
Oba Ibrahim Ade Momoh repeated his passionate appeal to the State Government for more security patrol along the Iyamoye masquerades – Kabba Road as armed robbers and kidnappers are taken advantage of the bad portions of the road to commit nefarious crimes on innocent travellers.
In same vein, President of Iyamoye Development Union, Alhaji Gbodi Adamu while appreciating the efforts of the hunters called on the Administrator of Ijumu Local Government Area to assist security personnel in ijumuland especially Iyamoye with a patrol van.
He equally lamented the lackadaisical attitude of the contractor handling the repair work on the road saying the contractor has not shown enough commitment.
