Our attention has been drawn to a disjointed and malicious write-up being promoted by one online blog called Observers Times orchestrated to malign the Kogi State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole who has worked tirelessly to stabilize the legislative arm of the state since he emerged.
The cordial working relationship between the legislature and executive arms nurtured and sustained by both leaders to create a conducive atmosphere to fast track the rapid transformation of the state in all sectors for the benefit of the people is not news and should not be misrepresented for mischief.
The 7th assembly from inception resolved to live above blackmails and primordial issues and concentrate on the business of lawmaking to promote good governance in the state as it is seen in the passage of bills and motions that will enhance the wellbeing of the people.
In case Observers Times do not know that it is the Assembly that gave legal teeth to the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, to revolutionize the science and technology sector in the state, the health sector, youth commission agency, violence against persons with disability and women in the society and many more bills that is repositioning the state for greater development.
However, the Kogi State House of Assembly having considered the giant strides of the Executive arm led by Governor Yahaya Bello in the area of security, education, health, infrastructures, civil service reform, religion harmony and as a patriotic Nigerians and committed party men, deemed it fit to inform the country to tap from the sterling leadership qualities of the young, vibrant and dynamic personality to tackle the mirage of challenges confronting the nation, if that is seen as running errand for someone who can turn around the fortunes of the country, they will be ever ready to do that for the benefit of the generality of the country.
Does Observers Times say it is inappropriate for the assembly members to share their experience with their colleagues across the country as stakeholders?

Femi Olugbemi,
Chief Press Secretary to the Honourable Speaker,
Kogi State House of Assembly
