The immediate past Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole, has described the decamping of hundreds of PDP, NNPP, ADC and SDP members in Iluke Ward on Saturday, August 17th into the APC as a feat made possible by the leadership style of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo.
The former Speaker in a statement issued to Newsmen shortly after the decamping ceremony, expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of the present administration.
He described the administration of Gov Ododo as grassroot oriented, focused and one geared towards bringing development to the doorsteps of the State people, expressed confidence that Kabba Bunu LGA is now wholly APC.
He expressed gratitude to the team work of the leadership who he noted are working in synergy, particularly praised Commander Jerry Omodara, The Hon. Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, and other party Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who working collectively achieved the giant strides recorded in the Local Government Area.
He assured that with the defection, the October 9th Local Government Election would be a Walk over, said the APC is resolved to maintain it overwhelming lead.
Recalled that the ruling All Progressives Congress in Bunu District of Kabba/Bunu LGA, today received hundreds of decampees.
The decampees were led by Pastor Felix Oni, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of NNPP in the last Kogi Gubernatorial Election, all declared their loyalty to the APC and Governor Ododo-led administration.
Commander Jerry Omodara who welcomed the decampees commended Pastor Felix Oni, Aroniyo Adedayo Arose, Adebayo Frank Olorunfemi and others for realigning with their political roots, stressing that it will heralds a major boost for the APC in Kabba/Bunu.
Jerry Omodara, further promised that their interests would be protected in the party, adding that the APC is the only truly democratic party in Nigeria.
Felix Oni, in his remarks on behalf of others, commended Gov. Usman Ododo for his visionary leadership and focused development in all sectors and for bringing governance closer to the people. He noted that joining with our teeming loyalists for our people to benefit from a focused administration currently in Kogi State.
He equally hailed the giant strides of Commander Jerry Omodara and Hon. Wemi Jones, adding that they are ready to work effectively for the progress and victory of the party in future elections.
In a short remarks, Hon. Aroniyo Adedayo Arose said “Once he was blind, but now he can see”.
Bunu district has been witnessing waves of decamping in favor of the party. It is apparently clear that more will still join the moving train.
