The National President of Ebira Peoples Vanguard, (EPV), Alhaji Abdulrahman Adoke, has congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello, on his re-election for a second term of office.
In a statement signed by the president and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday, Adoke described the victory of the Governor as “a victory well deserved.
He noted that the governor’s positive interventions in the areas of provision of critical infrastructures, Youth and women development, among others was unparalleled in the history of the state.
According to Adoke, the governor has ensured unity among the various ethnic groups in the state, which he said gave him overwhelming victory across the state
“As at today, the governor has brought unity to the state. Where you come from does not matter in the state any longer. The governor has conquered ethnicity in the state. His appointments and infrastructures was evenly distributed. This is what has made him to enjoy overwhelming support from all part of the state.
While calling on all the opposition parties in the state to cooperate with the governor to take the state to the next level of development, he enjoined Governor Bello to be magnanimous in victory, by bringing everyone on board.
Adoke however noted that there is no perfect election anywhere in the whole world, but stressed that the lossers should demonstrate true spirit of sportsmanship by accepting the outcome of the election.
“We are all aware that there is no perfect election anywhere, even in the advanced democracy. The lossers should accept the outcome of the election in the true spirit of sportsmanship. They should also use civilized means to vintilate their grievances as enshrined in our laws.
“We advised that no one should result violence or take the laws into their hands. We must put the interest and development of the state above every other consideration.
“We called on the governor to continue with the good works he has been doing. Our people needs more quality roads, portable water supply, qualitative healthcare delivery, youths and women development.
