One year after a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Women Leader in Ofu Local Government, Mrs Salome Acheju Abuh was burnt alive in her Ochadamu country home during the last Kogi state gubernatorial polls, the main opposition party has cried out over the inability of security agencies to bring her killers to book.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Bode Ogunmola, on Tuesday, PDP said the killers of late Mrs Abuh are still shielded from justice.
Ogunmola while lamenting on the sad development noted that, the party would continue to remember late Mrs Abuh for her courage, commitment, forthrightness to the party and doggedness during the November 2019 Governorship Election, in the state.
The party scribe described the deceased as a wife, mother and a true Patriot whose love for the state remains unrivalled with unquenchable love for the party and the state and an Amazon who paid the supreme price for democracy and good governance.
According to Ogunmola, Mrs Abuh was“a martyr, political celebrity, an institution who suffered this fate for Democracy in Nigeria.”
The state Publicity Secretary further said that “The PDP would forever remember the deceased for her sacrifice to enthrone good governance,”.
He prayed God to continue to grant her soul rest and the family she left behind, the fortitude to continue to bear the unfortunate loss.
It could be recalled that Late Mrs Abuh was burnt alive on 17th November, 2019 during the Kogi State Governorship were incumbent Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello was elected to pilot the affair of the state for another four years.
