A former Majority Leader in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Alhassan Adakeke has appealed to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to urgently act on the resolution of Bassa Local Government security meeting for Ohiogba’s immediate relocation to Mozum as delivered to him by the Local Government Area Transition Committee Chairman, Hon Theophilus Adama.
Hon. Adakeke made the appeal on Thursday in a statement while reacting to a press conference credited to the monarch that Mozum district has disown him in Bassa Local Government.
While noting that he is out to set the records straight to prevent the Ohiogba of Mozum from misleading the general public, and the good Government of Kogi State led by Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the former Kogi Assembly lawmaker emphasized that, the Monarch does not possess the moral right to disown an individual from the community following his selfish track records and his total disloyalty to the Government of the State.
Hon. Adakeke particularly fingered the Ohiogba of Mozum of working openly for the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last Governorship election in Kogi State which according to him was against the interest of the people.
He, however, threw more light on a joint reports of the Bassa Local Government Area election management committee submitted to the state elections review Committee which the monarch and his cronies subjected to scrutiny and termed it a petition written by him.
According to him, “I am embarrassed and shocked that, this so called committee of SDP canvassers turned traditional council members could pick the courage to disown me from a community to which they were roundly defeated in the November 11, 2024 Governorship elections.
“What they called an unsubstantiated petition was a joint reports of the Bassa Local Government Area election management committee submitted to the state Elections Review Committee. At what point are they reducing such reports to a petition from Hon. Alhassan Adakeke.
“To reduce such official reports to be a petition, simply expose their mental dilution and exhibition of their frustration of their defeat at the November 11 Governorship election.”
The former Majority Leader, who also lamented that the Ohiogba of Mozum for several years abandoned his palace to the village ghost, said the monarch is not fit to be talking of an abominable action which does not exist, stressing that the Ohiogba’s members comment at the purported press conference held at his usual beer parlour joint in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, is laughable, preposterous, uncalled for and should be thrown into the waste bin.
Continuing, he said “Nothing can be more abominable than a King who turned his graveyard palace to the situation room of SDP. As a matter of fact, the Ohiogba of Mozum has already been disowned by the Mozum ancestors as he now hold meeting under village shades and mosques. His palace as it were no longer attract even domestic animals. Himself has officially relocated to Lokoja, the headquarters of Kogi state to avoid the consequences of his atrocities in the kingdom.
“I don’t even know how better, the Ohiogba of Mozum want us to substantiate his involvement in negative partisan politics. Permit me to lead you into the followings.
“It is evidence that the Ohiogba of Mozum made available his palace for use as the control room of the SDP chieftain. Hon Abubakar Abdulkarim the leader of SDP stayed, slept, coordinated the SDP mobilization from the parlour of Ohiogba’s palace.
“The Ohiogba of Mozum personally coordinated the recruitment of one Musa Salihu ( Mozum ward) and Idris Husseini ( Ozugbe ward secretary) from APC to their decamping to SDP. He personally turned these fellows into his body guards on every clandestine activities against APC and the several visit he made to Alh Muritala Ajaka,the SDP Governorship candidate.
“What is more to be substantiated when on the day of Election, the Ohiogba voted in proxy by submitting his ballot paper to his brother, Mall. Suleiman Ali Bukar an SDP agent/ canvasser for the polling unit Mozum 001. When Ohiogba decided to vote through an SDP agent by proxy, he also demonstrated his loyalty to the opposition party, SDP.
“What is more. On the day of APC zonal rally, the Ohiogba of Mozum was in Oibe hotel at Ayangba persuading one Ndanusa Yusuf and friends to reject APC and joined SDP. He told them, there was no way APC will win the election. The young man observed his disservice to his people and shunned him down.
“On the day of the Governorship election, the Ohiogba of Mozum tricked the Ohiobaki of Ozugbe, Mall. Yahaya Shaibu to his palace in Mozum, denying the chief access to his community for effective mobilization and the exercise of his franchise.
“It could also be recalled that, the same Ohiogba gave a warning signal when, he led the people on a visit to the former Chief of staff and announced his dissatisfaction to the Government of Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello. We wonder how such a dishonest and disloyal King was still trusted till the day of election.
“This is what it takes to deal with traitors in genuine business. His pronouncement on my person, for those who know my role in his ascension to seat of Ohiogba explain how treacherous the King can be. I am not therefore surprised that, he is using the grace of forgiveness extended to the Bassa people by the former Governor, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello as weapon of persecution and slander. What he failed to understand was that, such grace was granted because the former Governor , Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello was satisfied with the leadership of the BASSA LGA Election management committee to which Hon Alhassan Salisu Adakeke served as a member/ spoke person.
“In Election period, appreciation are earned by the number of votes gathered and not by lips or eyes service and from one post to the other for personal aggrandizement of a classified order. The Former Governor , Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello and the new newly elected Governor Usman Ododo knows who to do better business of politics with in BASSA LGA without waiting for the suggestion of pathological traitors.
“It is equally an established fact that,On Sunday 19th the Ohiogba of Mozum, his supposed council members and SDP chieftains assembled under a tree shade in Mozum to discuss our Election Reports as submitted to the the Election Review committee. This meeting was adequately reported to the Local Government Area Transitional chairman , Hon Theophilus Adama and the Commissioner for commerce, Hon Mutari Muhammad Shaibu.
“On Sunday 25th February,2024, I was invited to Mozum central mosque to defend the report. My response was to ask them , why they were interested in the report. I reminded them that, there was similar Reports after the House of Assembly election written by Hon Danlami Yunusa( former Adviser) and Abdulmuni Umar(APC LGA party chairman). In that report, some Mozum personalities were suspended. Why were those writers not called to explain their report.
“Because he was afraid of my unsurmountable evidence of his atrocities to the land and the boiling intention of the people to revolt against him, the Ohiogba could not even show face to show course to my invitation and presentation.
” I also accused them of treacherous activities in anticipation of their willful projection for Muri Ajaka at the tribunal. I see their disclaimer as a direct disloyalty to the current administration in the state as the report I signed was official document of the State Government. And that, discussing such document in public was against the government Oath of secrecy. Moreso that, the government has not announced it’s position on the subject matter.
“It is obvious, that, the report was written to strengthen the chances of APC in subsequent election. I am surprised that, a loyal King who pretend to have the confidence of Government could be annoyed over a crime he willful committed at his pleasure.
” It is funny and amusing that, a king and his council members who have no palace could constitute themselves into such embarrassing prosecutors and persecuting my person, with the sole interest to reap where they have not sown. Surprisingly, they shameless requested the Government not to do business with me but their cultural and political armed rubbers standing in to reap from my goodwill.
“For a king who is interested in planting persons in government, he should be seen to work undoubtedly in support of that Government. It worse to observe that, Royal father who couldn’t summon courage to vote for a government could have the effrontery to confront a loyal party man like Hon Alhassan Adakeke.
“It is even a mental malfunction for an uncommitted and disloyal Traditional council members to contemplate the idea of disowning me from a community, I had led for years with substantial control. Their disclaimer concocted in a bear parlour at Pacific Hotel is good as dead on arrival, with no constitutional or cultural value of attention.Their intention is a face saving drive to cover their atrocities in the lifeless kingdom.They should all be forced back to the kingdom to lick their wounds”.
