Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has said there was no rift between himself and his Kogi State counterpart, Alhaji Yahya Bello, as being speculated both in the mainstream and social media.
Engineer Sule made the clarification in a statement he personally issued on Tuesday.
While dismissing reports suggesting that disagreement ensued between him and Bello over the direct primary election, the Nasarawa State governor said the issue of the direct or indirect primary was not even part of the agenda when the 22 APC governors met.
He emphasized that there was no any disagreement between himself and his Kogi State counterpart.
“The topic of direct/indirect primaries was not even on our agenda and was never discussed.
“Secondly, there was no disagreement between the governors of Nasarawa and Kogi, or between any governors at all,” he stated.
According to Engineer Sule, if there will be any kind of argument between governors at such meetings, he will not be involved because he is seen as a peacemaker.
He maintained that himself and the Kogi governor remain best of friends, stressing that there was and never will be an argument between them.
Engineer Sule therefore called on the public to disregard the said report as it was far from being factual.
Recall that a section of the mainstream and social media reported that argument ensued during the Progressive Governors Forum meeting in Abuja, between Nasarawa governor and his Kogi counterpart, over the alleged adoption of the direct or indirect primaries for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
