The Staff of Kogi State Ministry of Health have been advised to be proactive in the discharge of their duties.
The newly appointed commissioner for Health, Dr Zakeri Alhaji Usman stated this during the official handing over by the Permanent secretary, Barr. Adeniyi Moraiyewa on Monday at the Ministry.
Dr Zakeri in a press statement issued by the public relations officer of the Ministry, Dorothy Onoja said that the Ministry is witnessing a drastic change and that there is a need to make the most of it.
He further encouraged Staff of the ministry to work harmoniously with each other and he expressed his dislike in lackadaisical attitude to work as it breeds incompetence.
The Hon. Commissioner added that working together to deliver results requires a systematic approach to where everyone ‘s work and input is inter-connected.
Dr Zakeri Usman also emphasized on the importance of turnaround time in attending to files and that all files must not exceed 24 hours unattended to.
While explaining that a lot of focus is on the ministry because of its importance.
He solicited the support of the staff and advised them to learn the act of communications, adding that a lot can be achieved if there is a team work .
In his opening remarks, the Permanent secretary of the Ministry, Barr. Adeniyi Moraiyewa welcomed the newly appointed commissioner for Health and assured him of the maximum co-operation of the ministry ‘s Staff to aid in the discharge of his duties effectively.
Barr. Adeniyi emphasized in group work which is sacrosanct to achieving the desired goals of adding values to the development of the state in the health sector. He equally prayed for God’s guidance for the Hon. Commissioner as he pilots the affairs of the ministry.
In their separate remarks, the Directors of the ministry welcomed the commissioner and promised to give him their full support in moving the ministry forward.
