Wife of Kogi State Governor, Her Excellency Mrs. Rashida Yahaya Bello has appealed to women in the state not to be demoralized by the postponement of the general election that was supposed to hold last week Saturday.
She made the appeal today at an interactive session with All Progressive Congress (APC), women leaders across the 299 wards of the state at Glass House, Government House Lokoja.
Speaking at the event, the Director General APC Presidential campaign council, Kogi State and also Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Edward David Onoja charged the women to look out for APC logo on the election day and vote for the return of President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that in the whole Africa no one has the integrity records of the President.
Also speaking the commissioner of Women Affair and Social Development Hon.Bolanle Amupitan implored women to go back home and preach the gospel of (4+4) for continuity and consolidation as represented by APC, according to her NO WOMAN NO NATION.
The Kogi State APC women leader, Hajia Rabiu Haruna, also appreciated Her Excellency’s kind gesture in reaching out to the women in the state and assured her of the women support for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari come Saturday.
Mrs. Rashida Yahaya Bello charged the women especially the Local Government Administrators Wives and leaders of various women groups in the state to ensure they continue the door to door campaign in their various local government areas and wards because women constitute the greater percentage of every society.
She called on women and youths to remain resolute and advised them to maintain peace and orderliness across the state by staying away from violence and not to relent in exercising their electoral right come Saturday because their vote is their power.
